Jack Binford Brannen was the third child of Joe and Hazel Brannen. He was born on September 15, 1930. He graduated from Crockett High School. Jack obtained both Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Texas A&M. On March 28, 1952 Jack married Pansy Nell ("Pat") Pinkston (born 10/31/30 in McEwen, Tennessee) of Palestine, Texas. Pat's parents were Oda and Edna Pinkston.
Jack served in the U.S. Army in Japan and Korea in '52-'54 and was Battery Commander, "B" Battery, 11th Artillery Battalion, 24th Division. For 36 years, up through 1995, Jack was a manager with Purina Mills, Inc. but Jack and Pat are now both retired and enjoying their travel trailer and their five grandchildren. Jack and Pat have two children:
- Carolyn Dianne Brannen was born August 22, 1955 in Corsicana, Texas. She graduated from Brenham High School and Austin Community College, with a degree in Nursing. - David Earl Brannen was born February 26, 1957 in College Station, Texas. He graduated from Brenham High School and Texas A&M University. On 8/6/83 David married Adelia ("Dee") Boehm (born 9/19/62 in Galveston, TX). Dee's parents are Dr. and Mrs. Henry Boehm, Jr. of Brenham. David works for Protec Environmental Services. TX. Dee graduated from Brenham High School, The University of Texas (oh gosh, a "longhorn" in the family), and The University of Texas Medical Branch. She is a Medical Doctor in family practice with Youngblood-Incalcatera Clinic. They live in Houston, TX and their e-mail address is: dbrann@swbell.net
